All paint manufacturers filter their coatings to remove any particles that would be visible to the eye and cause a defect in your finish. However, we still recommend filtering your coatings just prior to use.
When filtering clears, we recommend a 125 through 250 micron filter. The filter mesh should be stainless steel or mono-filament (nylon) media. We do not favor cotton filter media for clear coats because the cotton lint could transfer into the clear.
Filtration at time of spray application is a must when using waterbase coatings to trap any "skins".
