3M Accuspray HG “All In One” HVLP Gravity Feed Spray Gun Package - (16580)
$349.50
The 3M ACCUSPRAY HG “All In One” HVLP Gravity Feed Spray Gun Package is the latest addition to the 3M PPSTM system, utilizing a composite HVLP gravity feed spray gun with replacement spray heads in five different sizes. We can no longer say "there is not a spray gun that doesn’t require cleaning or maintenance". The HG spray gun provides excellent atomization when spraying most industrial, automotive, marine and wood finishes. The 3MTM HG Accuspray gun provides the most important feature EXCELLENT ATOMIZATION with the convenience of 5 to 8 spray outs before the head needs replacement. When the needle packing seal starts to leak back into the clear fluid tube the head needs replacement. The average head cost per spray-out is $0.50 to $0.60. With every new head replacement it offers “Like New Gun Performance”!
Applications:
The HG Accuspray gun with the 1.8mm fluid nozzle was targeted for the priming and sealing in the automotive refinish business. We find that the 1.8mm orifice size matches the required flow rate of industrial coatings. The 1.3mm and 1.4mm fluid nozzle are for medium viscosity coatings including automotive basecoat and clear coats. The 1.2mm fluid nozzle is for applying stains.

3MTM HG and HGP Care and Cleaning Procedures
Do not backpressure the gun.
There are two Teflon O-rings or seals in the atomizing head. When you slide the atomizing head onto the needle the seals are pushed out towards the front of the gun. This seals the needle passage so the air and fluid going through the gun does not blow back into the gun body. If you back pressure the gun it will flip the Teflon seals so they point back into the gun. When you add fluid and pressure it sneaks past the seals and comes out in front of the handle.
The solution is to clean the gun properly.
While the atomizing head is on the gun, fill it half way with whatever cleaner is required for your coating. Cover and shake it a bit to loosen any residue. Pull the trigger and drain. Fill the atomizing head two more times with cleaner and drain through the tip by pulling the trigger. Pull the atomizing head straight off the gun. Do not twist as you're pulling. Fill the needle port on the back side of the atomizing head with cleaner and drain. Inspect to make sure there is no residue left in the atomizing head and repeat if needed.
